What about the antique hotel Marquesa Puerto de la Cruz Tenerife?

Many of its genuine antique ornaments disappeared. May be there was theft, may be things were damaged by tourists which showed no respect.

Anyway, only larger olden days' ornaments still grace
the reception rooms of this once so nostalgic hotel. Beautiful framed photos still display yesterday's scenes of a 500 year old town in this period hotel.

Also, a gigantic barroque mirror above the stairs still reflects the genuine old lobby of the antique hotel.

The old rainbow colored skylight above the top floor timber balcony gallery would look as good in a modern hotel.

Natural ventilation

The photo depicted below on your right was taken from the opposite side of the interior patio balcony.

Notice the open window panels of the glassed in gallery, which is portrayed. Also spot the windows from rooms in the
background. An open door of the lobby is right opposite the
entrance door of the cleverly built hotel.

The swimmingpool rooftop with its pretty view over Spanish houses of downtown Puerto de la Cruz could do with some improvements, though.

Free Wifi in the lobby makes up for the very basic bedrooms of the nostalgic Hotel Marquesa.

Lush big ferns are still adding the softening touch to period furniture and tiled or wooden floors which have been walked on by many feet over the course of a few centuries.

Attendance and service by the hotel staff is good, while food is pretty much standard for buffets by 3 star hotels of Tenerife.
