El Aderno rediscovered for its divine ice cream.

El Aderno Café of Puerto de la Cruz has always been a favorite for the Tenerife holiday home insider.

She's just rediscovered it. It's tops for its divine ice cream made with forest berries.

But, who says, she can't have as well what she always ordered in the past?

That's  a sugar free dessert.

What about one for lunch and the other for supper?

Teobaldo Mendéz also made himself a name on mainland Spain and on other Canary Islands. There, his food creations are often stocked in exclusive shops.

The native from Buenavista del Norte of the Isla Baja in Tenerife started his culinary art career more than 25 years ago.

All the above is displayed on the shop front in Buenavista  at C/de la Alhondiga, 8 where no café, bar or the like seems to be attached. This business can almost be spotted from the main town square Plaza de los Remedios.  By the way, Teobaldo Mendéz  studied in various cities overseas. By now, his chocolates, sweets and traditional bakery products have achieved an excellent track record but, he hasn't stopped to better himself.

By the way, lovers of good coffee will not be disappointed at this Puerto de la Cruz La Paz cafe.

Needless to say, it's not easy to overlook this highly popular place for small breaks opposite Hotel Botanico of Puerto Cruz. The cafe is in a paradise surrounding of tropical flora. Tractor seat plants and Spider lilies separate its shaded terrace from the pedestrian path. It's right by the main road the palm lined avenue of La Paz that leads to the TF5 free way.

Also in the immediate neighborhood is a Titsa bus stop which serves many routes. It has one of the island's first alive bus arrivals on a countdown timer screen. There, you can now spot if it's too late to chill out or shop at Teobaldo's chocolate and pastry shop.

Origin of the brand name of Chef Teobaldo Mendez.

The Aderno Ardisia Barharmensis is a small endemic Macaronesian tree that is valued for its hardwood. It's found most in Laurisilva rain forests of La Gomera and in the Tenerife Teno Mountain Massif.
