El Rincon de Tintin a must visit?

El Rincon de Tintin (Tintin's corner) should be visited at least once. However, it's not for people who like modern bars and pubs. It's not for those who go for cheap drinks, either. However, it will be loved by all who like character nooks of ancient architecture and genuine beer.

So what is it like?

Call it a most unusual bar or pub in the old quarters of San Cristobal de La Laguna.

It is by one of most prominent Tenerife landmark church towers of Iglesia de Nuestra Senora de la Concepción in the middle of the so called Casco pedestrian zone. Only a fairly humble name board on the house front opposite a fountain gives away the hidden tavern.

How I found the rustic El Rincon de Tintin ?

I was drawn to this inn by the faint sound of guitar tunes on Good Friday Viernes Santo of 2019. An Italian was singing and playing melodious songs somewhere inside its big building. Mind that the presenters and styles at this Laguna Belgian drinkery keep on changing. Its Instagram and Facebook page announce them.

Food or Tapas at Tintin's corner

A board published an exceptional brunch, as depicted beside. Food is rarely part of the Belgian Rincon's agenda.

Spot that Jamon Iberico Bellota was offered which is one of the best.

This ancient Belgian owned inn reminds many antique pubs in Bruge of Belgium or in the UK. However, the one in Tenerife may be the most curious one.

Why?

It has  two street accesses.

Look out for its interior cobble passage that joins the church town square of La Concepción with Calle Los Herreros.  Unfortunately, this mysterious inside alley is scarcely lit and therefore not suited for photography.

How is its Belgian beer?

I quite like this custom made beer, although I usually prefer a glass of wine. Of course, the Tintin's beer is for an acquired taste, but there's no healthier one than a home made one.
