El Rincon del Tintin a must see?

El Rincon del Tintin (Tintin's corner) should be visited at least once. However, it's not for people who like modern bars and pubs. It's not for those who go for cheap drinks, either. However, it will be loved by all who love character nooks of ancient architecture,  and genuine beer.

So what is it like?

Call it a most unusual bar or pub in the old quarters of San Cristóbal de La Laguna.

It is by one of most prominent Tenerife landmark church towers of Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Concepción in the middle of the so called Casco pedestrian zone. However, very little gives it away outside, except for a fairly humble name board opposite a fountain.

How I found this rustic pub El Rincon del Tintin?

I was drawn to this bar by the faint sound of live music on Good Friday Viernes Santo last Easter. A guitar player was singing pleasant songs in Italian somewhere inside a big building. Mind that the live music events at this La Laguna Belgian Bar keep on changing. Its Instagram or Facebook page announces them.

A board with a special menu was displayed on that Easter day, as depicted beside. Food is rarely part of the Belgian Rincon's agenda.

Spot that Jamon Iberico Bellota was offered which is one of the best.

This ancient Belgian owned bar reminds many an antique pub in Bruge or in the UK. The most curious are its two accesses.

Look out for its interior cobble passage that joins the church town square of the Concepción with Calle Los Herreros.  Unfortunately, this inside alley is scarcely lit and therefor not suited for photography.

How is its Belgian beer?

I quite like this custom made beer,  although I  usually prefer a glass of wine. Of course, the Tintin's beer is for an acquired taste,  but there's no healthier one than a home made one.
